Woman allegedly pushes over $350 display cases to steal necklace from Bealls

A Leesburg woman was arrested after allegedly causing a ruckus at Bealls so she could steal a necklace.

A deputy responded to the parking lot of Bealls, located at 13687 U.S. Hwy. 441, Lady Lake, for a disturbance caused by 22-year-old Shalee Marie Casey at 3:55 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

A store manager advised that Casey came into the store, destroyed some display cases and stole a $19.99 necklace. She then left and went into the Lowe’s Home Improvement store next door. Additionally, she was described as carrying a bag and had a pink substance on her nose, the report said.

This helped law enforcement identify her in the Lowe’s parking lot, where she immediately took off the necklace. It still had the Bealls price tag attached, and she claimed to have forgotten she had it on, the report said…
