Man allegedly strangles mother’s husband when confronted about behavior at birthday party

A Leesburg man was arrested after allegedly strangling his mother’s husband at their daughter’s birthday party.

Officers responded to a battery involving 23-year-old Kamrin Vincent Evans at an undisclosed Leesburg residence at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. His mother stated he was battering her husband, and dispatchers heard a male voice say, “I’m gonna kill him before the cops get here.”

By the time law enforcement arrived, Evans and the husband were gone. The mother was still there to say they were all gathered at the house to celebrate her daughter’s birthday. During the party, the husband asked Evans to stop bothering his daughters, and Evans went to his bedroom, the report said.

But shortly after this, the husband went to the bedroom where a physical altercation broke out between him and Evans. It continued through the kitchen, down the hall and into the mother’s bedroom where it ended. The mother called the police during the fight because she believed Evans was suffering from and going through a mental health crisis, the report said…
