Couple charged after violent and destructive spat at apartment

A Leesburg couple was arrested on battery charges after attacking each other during a drunken argument in their apartment.

Officers responded to an undisclosed Leesburg residence where 19-year-old Austin Tucker Griffith stated his boyfriend, 34-year-old Eric Dean Horner, was acting out and destroying the house at 2:25 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. He claimed nothing physical happened, but Horner was yelling due to Griffith drinking.

Upon arrival, the officers were met at the door by Griffith. He looked wet and was wiping himself down, explaining Horner had thrown a bucket of mop water at him. They were then directed upstairs to the couple’s bedroom, past the entryway with things thrown everywhere, the report said.

Horner had fresh, bright pink and red scratch marks on his left arm and shoulder when he spoke with law enforcement. He repeatedly denied Griffith attacking him, but the more the officers looked at him, the more injuries they saw. These included small open wounds on the bottom of his neck below the beard line and on the left side of his neck, the report said…
