Ocala man sentenced to over eight years for methamphetamine distribution

TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Jean-Marie Lubin Celestin, a 31-year-old from Ocala, Florida, has been sentenced to eight years and six months in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The sentence, followed by a 10-year supervised release, was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

Celestin had previously supplied pounds of methamphetamine to a drug trafficker in Crawfordville, Florida, according to court records. His arrest followed an investigation where he delivered approximately four pounds of methamphetamine, leading to the seizure of the narcotics. Celestin had prior state convictions in Florida, Georgia, and Missouri and had been released from the Florida Department of Corrections 15 months before his arrest.

“This sentence sends a clear message that drug trafficking will not be tolerated in Wakulla County,” said Sheriff Jared F. Miller. He commended the efforts of deputies and federal partners, thanking the U.S. Attorney’s Office for holding Celestin accountable.
