A warrant has been issued for a suspect in a series of car thefts which have taken place in The Villages.
Earl Dorey, 37, of Summerfield, has been charged with grand theft of an automobile in connection with vehicle thefts which occurred in recent months in residential areas north of County Road 466, according to Sgt. Adam Dodge of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. One of the thefts was a truck snatched in the Village of De La Vista West.
Dodge noted that the vehicles were stolen because the keys were left inside. He reminds local residents of the importance of removing keys from vehicles.
Dorey is considered the lone suspect in the vehicle thefts which have occurred in The Villages…
