A Leesburg man was arrested and put on a felony hold after being caught with methamphetamine near Circle K.
An officer learned 55-year-old Paul Jay Richardson was near Circle K, located at 3300 W Main St., around 7:40 p.m. Dec. 31, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. He was known to have an active federal warrant issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for knowingly and intentionally distributing five grams or more of methamphetamine.
Once in the area, the officer spotted Richardson standing in front of the business while pushing a blue bicycle with multiple bags attached. He was subsequently detained and searched, including a black backpack affixed to the bicycle. Inside was a zip-style pouch labeled “Top Secret,” the report said.
This pouch contained three glass bubble-style smoking pipes with unknown residue, two black digital scales with methamphetamine residue, six hypodermic needles with unknown residue, four unopened hypodermic needles and four baggies with 9.4 total grams of methamphetamine.
