LEVY COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – During the early morning hours on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, the Levy County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call from a frantic woman. This woman stated she awoke to find an unknown person standing over her holding a knife while she slept. She told the 911 operators she began screaming and the suspect ran out of her home.
Deputy Kaleigh Richetti and Field Training Deputy Burt Miller arrived within minutes and interviewed the victim. She told deputies that she was abruptly awaken by a stocky male figure who was wearing a mask and hoodie standing inside her bedroom holding what appeared to be a knife. The victim said when she attempted to say something to the intruder he made a gesture with his finger over his mouth while making the sound “Shhhhh.”
The victim immediately screamed. The intruder then grabbed the victim and covered her mouth in an attempt to restrain and silence her. She then began fighting back. This is when the intruder released his grip, turned, and as he fled the residence through a screen door, the victim saw him pick up an item from inside her home…
