Grandson and 85-year-old grandfather charged for wrestling in front yard over money

A Leesburg man and his elderly grandfather were arrested for battery after a verbal argument over money escalated to wrestling on the ground.

Officers responded to a battery between 44-year-old Dwayne Keith Cuyler and his grandfather, 85-year-old Theodore Cuyler, at a residence in Leesburg around 9:35 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

Theodore advised that he was in a verbal argument with Dwayne about some money owed to him. This altercation began inside the house and continued as Dwayne walked outside into the front yard. They were facing each other at that point and grabbed each other, going down to the ground and wrestling there. He stated that at no point did they hit one another with hands or any object, the report said.

During the investigation, an officer saw blood on Theodore’s gums and what looked to be on his tongue, too. There was also mulch and dirt stuck to the back of his shirt and dirt stains on the front of his pants. When asked about how he got his injuries, he was unsure but knew Dwayne had not struck him, the report said…
