An uninsured driver from Georgia was busted with a bogus license plate in Wildwood.
Elijah Williams, 36, of Tifton, Ga. was driving a blue Dodge Durango at about 10 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Mile Marker 300 on the Florida Turnpike when an officer noticed a suspicious temporary tag on the vehicle, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. In addition, conditions were foggy and the vehicle did not have its headlights illuminated.
A check of the temporary tag revealed that the QR code would not scan. A closer inspection showed that the temporary tag did not have the proper Georgia seal. The tag number had been assigned to a 2018 Nissan, not a Dodge Durango. Williams had no paperwork for the vehicle and eventually admitted it was uninsured…
