INVERNESS, Fla. (WFLA) — Inverness, Florida, is mourning the loss of one child and hoping for the recovery of another after some weekend fun at the park turned deadly.
The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said that at around 12:45 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported that two 14-year-old boys were missing around Sportsman Park.
The caller said the pair was nowhere to be found, but there was a large hole visible, so the caller thought the children may be trapped inside.
