A Debary woman was arrested for theft after stealing $589 worth of Birkenstocks from the Bealls near Lowes in Lady Lake.
Tara Siobhan Quinlivan, 50, was seen with multiple boxes of Birkestock shoes in her shopping cart at Bealls, located at 13687 U.S. Hwy. 441, Lady Lake, on Saturday afternoon, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
On top of the shopping cart covering the shoes were two towels. Quinlivan then walked to another part of the store, started taking the shoes out of boxes and putting the boxes under a clothes rack. She proceeded to pull a plastic Bealls bag out of her purse and place five pairs of shoes inside, trying to leave the store without paying for them, the report said.
After detaining Quinlivan, law enforcement recovered three mocca and two white colored pairs of Birkenstocks worth $589.75. They also found methamphetamine in her purse and an orange hypodermic needle that tested positive for heroin, the report said,…
