A 19-year-old motorcyclist from Dunnellon was killed Sunday, Jan. 18, in a pre-dawn, one-vehicle crash in central Brevard County, Florida Highway Patrol reported.
The man, whose name was not released, was riding a Suzuki RX1000 southbound in the inside lane of U.S. 1 near Puma Valley Way around 3:52 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, FHP said in a crash report. The driver ran off the highway to the right and struck a utility pole, troopers said. He was taken by emergency responders to Cape Canaveral Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
