A Leesburg woman will appear in court for the attempted theft of $51 in merchandise from Walmart.
An employee of Walmart, located at 2501 CItrus Blvd., saw 33-year-old Ashley Nicole Hutton in the hardware aisle at 9:05 a.m. Jan. 11, according to a case report from the Leesburg Police Department. She picked up items from the shelves and put them in her backpack.
Hutton proceeded to move to the sporting goods department where she repeated this process. She subsequently made her way to self-checkout and only paid for the merchandise in her cart. She tried to leave with $51.69 in unpaid items, including an 8×10 tarp, duct tape, t-rex tape and two High Noon beverages, the report said…
