A Leesburg man has pleaded guilty to federal weapons offenses and faces a lengthy prison sentence, according to a Justice Department news release dated Jan. 29.
Fernando Munguia, 29, pleaded guilty to nine counts each of making a materially false statement in connection with the acquisition of a firearm and causing a federal firearm licensee (FFL) to maintain false information in its official records.
The government says Munguia faces up to 10 years behind bars for each false statement count and and up to five years in prison for each count of causing an FFL to maintain false information in its official records. As part of a plea deal, Munguia will surrender the guns connected to the case…
