Erin Jackson, Brittany Bowe results from women’s 1,000 in Winter Olympics

Ocala’s Olympic speedskaters Brittany Bowe and Erin Jackson made their highly anticipated first appearances at the starting line of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics on Monday, Feb. 9, as both competed in the women’s 1,000 meters.

Bowe, age 37, entered the 1,000-meter race as a three-time world champion and the world-record holder in the event with a time of 1:11.61 from March 9, 2019. Bowe medaled in the event at the Beijing 2022 Olympics, winning a bronze medal.

Bowe’s mother, Debbie Bowe, a guidance counselor at Ocala’s Trinity Catholic High School — where Brittany Bowe attended high school — was in attendance for the event in Italy, as was Brittany’s sister, Brooke Bowe. Both were wearing their timeless “Bowelieve” t-shirts…
