Conviction of Gang Leader Secured in Central Florida

The conviction of a “Sex Money Murder” gang leader was secured in Central Florida in a multi-agency racketeering investigation involving the Attorney General, FDLE and Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced that the Office of Statewide Prosecution secured the conviction of 36-year-old Hernando Thompson, Jr., of Orlando, for his leadership role in the Blood-affiliated “Sex Money Murder” gang.

The guilty verdict follows a Polk County trial. Following only an hour of deliberation, the jury found Thompson guilty on all five charges: Racketeering, Conspiracy to Commit Racketeering, and three counts of Directing Criminal Gang Activities…
