ORLANDO, Florida – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Weather Outlook for Central Florida on Sunday, February 15, 2026, due to a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.
Scattered thunderstorms are anticipated across the Florida Peninsula, influenced by an approaching strong cold front producing showers and storms.
Heavy rainfall could lead to localized flash flooding over portions of Florida through mid-week.
The NWS warns of the following hazards during the peak storm hours:
- Isolated strong to severe winds, with gusts potentially damaging up to 45-60 mph
- Frequent lightning strikes
- Locally heavy rainfall that could cause urban, rural, and small stream flooding, with amounts of 1 to 2 inches expected and up to 3 inches locally
- Small to coin-size hail
- Isolated brief tornado
