A resident of Sumter County has filed a lawsuit against the owner of a Wildwood apartment complex, alleging that poor lighting and an uneven sidewalk caused him to trip and sustain permanent injuries.
William Clark filed the complaint on Dec. 29, 2025, in the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court for Sumter County against The Villages Owner, LLC, the entity listed as owning or controlling the Cypress Commons Apartments. State corporate records show that The Villages Owner, LLC, is registered to California-based Lincoln Avenue Communities.
The lawsuit stems from an incident that allegedly occurred on March 10, 2025, at the complex located at 775 Huey St. in Wildwood.
According to the complaint, Clark was walking on a sidewalk at the property when he “unexpectedly tripped and fell due to a raised/uneven portion of the curb/sidewalk.” The complaint also cites “insufficient lighting” as contributing to the alleged fall…
