Woman arrested for starving 3 dogs, Marion County deputies say

OCKLAWAHA, Fla. (WCJB) – Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman on animal cruelty charges on Tuesday for starving three dogs, two of which died.

According to the arrest report for Shan’tayia Edwards, 31, deputies searched her Ocklawaha home in November 2025. They found two dogs in crates, one was dead, and a third dog, also dead, tied up in the backyard.
