I just wanted to respond to a story that was written about a man whose public arrest record was shared on your news site. I also see records of many others that are posted daily. I understand that these are public records of people that have broken the law. These public records I am writing about are DUIs here in The Villages.
I am not writing this to defend the man who made a mistake on Oct. 30, 2025.
But I know this man personally. I am writing this because when these records are shared, it only tells the story of a person that made a poor decision that day. It doesn’t tell the story of the person…
