A Florida man found dead this week near Crane Pond in the town of Schroon died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to New York State Police.
An autopsy performed at 7 a.m. Feb. 27 at Glens Falls Hospital determined that Theodore S. Troth, 51, of The Villages, Florida, died from a gunshot wound to the head. The manner of death was ruled a suicide.
Troth had been reported missing Feb. 24 after he failed to check out of a cabin he began renting Jan. 25 at Rowe’s Adirondack Cabins on State Route 9 in Schroon…
