A visitor to The Villages has been ordered to seek a mental health evaluation after creating a scene, leading to her arrest.
Anne Marie Zapadka, 59, of Box Elder, S.D., offered a plea of no contest this past month in Lake County Court to a charge of disorderly conduct. She was placed on probation for six months and ordered to seek a mental health evaluation.
Officers were called at about 3 p.m. Sept. 9 to the Holiday Inn Express on Avenida Central where Zapadka was in the lobby “yelling and screaming at employees” causing them to “fear for their safety,” according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. When officers arrived on the scene, hotel employees indicated that Zapadka was not a guest at the hotel. It appeared she had been drinking. She was “obviously intoxicated and smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage.”
She was exhibiting “outlandish behavior and violent demeanor.” She refused to calm down…
