A Wildwood man was arrested for battery after allegedly holding his girlfriend down during an argument at The Juliette apartments.
Officers responded to The Juliette on Dan Diciolla Drive regarding a woman screaming inside 22-year-old Alexander David Ripa’s apartment around 10 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. The caller did not know the couple but stated that the woman had been “screaming a lot lately” and that this was the third time in the last couple of weeks.
When officers got there, they could hear this woman screaming from inside the apartment. They knocked on the door and told the occupants to open it, after which the screaming stopped. No one answered the door, so one officer continued knocking while the other went around to the back of the apartment to check the rear door, the report said.
More officers arrived on scene as the knocking continued. Still with no answer, they forced their way into the apartment to find Ripa and his girlfriend of three years. The former was detained in handcuffs before the couple was separated in different rooms to be interviewed, the report said…
