A DoorDash driver was arrested in Marion County for allegedly leaving two young children and a loaded firearm in his vehicle for several hours while he delivered food to a customer.
On Monday, March 2, at around 12:45 a.m., a Marion County Sheriff’s Office corporal responded to the 8700 block of SW 156th Place in Dunnellon after receiving reports of a “suspicious vehicle” in the area. A 911 caller had advised that a car was “sitting in the middle of the road,” and its hazard lights were on, according to the arrest report.
The corporal located the car, a silver Toyota Corolla, and observed that its engine was running with the keys in the ignition. In addition, the corporal observed two young children seated in the back of the car, and a pistol was allegedly “in plain view on the driver’s side floorboard.”…
