An Ohio woman was arrested after allegedly attempting to steal $812 in groceries at a Publix grocery store in The Villages.
Jennifer Lynn Collins, 39, of West Jefferson, Ohio, was with another woman early Monday evening when they entered the store at Southern Trace Plaza, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The women loaded up a shopping cart and pushed it toward the exit doors without paying for the groceries. When they were approached by a store manager, the woman left the cart behind and fled.
A manager noticed that one of the women had returned to the beige Buick SUV which was in the parking lot. When a deputy approached the vehicle, Collins was ducking down inside the SUV, attempting to hide. The deputy asked her to step out of the vehicle. The store manager was able to identify Collins by her “distinct tattoos.”…
