Following rapid growth and a need for more space, an Ocala food bank that has distributed millions of pounds of food since 2022 is asking county officials to help it serve thousands more residents by granting permission for multiple, large-scale food distribution events at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion.
The Marion County Board of County Commissioners will vote Tuesday, March 17, on a request from Operation Compassion of Florida (OCFL) to utilize the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion (SELP) as a recurring site for mobile food assistance events. OCFL is an outreach ministry managed by Wings of Faith Fellowship.
