A Eustis woman was arrested for battery after allegedly pushing her boyfriend to the ground at a café in Leesburg.
Officers responded to Spill the Beans Coffee Shop, located at 406 Pine St., for a disturbance involving 53-year-old Catherine Erlene Sceal and her boyfriend of five years around 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.
Upon arrival, they saw the couple fighting over a chair, making the situation a potential battery. The complainant advised that Sceal had not been allowed in the business because she was causing a disturbance. She was mad and threw a cup with ice on the ground, the report said.
Sceal told law enforcement that she had been struck with an iron chair on her arm and hand by her boyfriend. She tried to prevent him from hitting her a third time, but the reason he fell on the floor was from him drinking alcohol. They argued because he did not want to say anything to the man in the café, the report said…
