A Lady Lake man was arrested during a baby exchange with a woman who had a no-contact order against him.
Deputies responded to Lazy K Ranch South campground, located at 37800 Illinois St., Lady Lake, to check on the welfare of a baby in the care of 41-year-old Lloyd Francis Nelson, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, they checked his RV without any sign of him. His black 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck was not there, either.
The deputies then left the campground to speak with the female complainant. She advised that at 1 a.m. Friday, she had an agreement to exchange the baby with Nelson. But he became angry, thinking she was doing something in her personal life that he did not agree with. He decided not to go through with the exchange after she had driven to his residence to pick up the baby, the report said.
She had also gotten a text from Nelson, saying, “Good luck finding us.” His residence was the last known location she knew the baby to be at. The report noted there was a no-contact order between the two since January, and they had been in contact only when necessary…
