A pair of Leesburg brothers were arrested for assault after throwing a chair and firing a gun at each other during an argument.
Deputies responded to a battery in progress at the home of 45-year-old Thomas Jeffrey Evans on Lake Bradley Drive in Leesburg at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. His daughter called to say his brother, 41-year-old Brian Andrew Evans, had become violent. She also stated Thomas had a firearm, but he put it away.
Upon arrival, the deputies spotted Brian walking toward a vehicle in the yard. He was bleeding from the face and had blood on his shirt and pants. But he was not cooperative with instructions and was immediately secured as a result, the report said.
At the same time, Thomas’s daughter came over to say her father was lying on the floor in the living room. One of the deputies stayed with Brian while the other walked into the house to find Thomas lying prone on the living room floor with a black handgun in front of him. The gun, a black Smith & Wesson M&P, had the magazine removed and placed next to it, the report said…
