A Belleview family is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross after a massive fire erupted on their property Sunday night, threatening their home and surrounding trees.
Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) units were dispatched at 9:27 p.m. to the 12000 block of SE 113th Terrace in Belleview, following multiple 911 calls reporting that a shed and a house were on fire.
Crews from Spruce Creek Station #30 arrived on the scene at 9:35 p.m. to find a shed fully engulfed in flames, with heavy fire actively threatening the adjacent residence and nearby trees. Firefighters immediately deployed multiple hose lines to begin suppression efforts and establish a defensive barrier to protect the home.
The effort required a significant response, with additional firefighters arriving from The Villages Station #10, The Shores Station #17, Belleview Station #18, Weirsdale Station #27, and Rolling Greens Station #28 to assist with both fire suppression and search operations within the structures.
