An Ocklawaha woman was arrested for battery after allegedly clawing at the father of her infant for taking away her alcohol.
A deputy responded to a physical disturbance between 34-year-old Sara Mae Scribner and the father of her infant daughter at their home on Southeast 174th Court in Ocklawaha around 2:30 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Her partner advised that she struck him several times during an argument.
He explained that Scribner was heavily intoxicated, and he was trying to put their infant to bed while she kept drinking and causing an argument. She then went into the kitchen, grabbed another bottle of alcohol and headed toward their daughter’s room. Believing she would harm herself or their daughter, he took the bottle from her, the report said.
As her partner proceeded to the sink to pour out the alcohol, Scribner struck him in the head multiple times. He backed away from her, and she reached her hand up toward his mouth to claw his lip. She knew hitting him in the head did not hurt him, so she went for his mouth or eyes to cause damage, the report said…
