Meth found in Michael Kors purse during burglary investigation

A Summerfield woman was arrested after methamphetamine was found in her purse during a burglary investigation.

Deputies were investigating a possible burglary on Southeast 91st Court in Summerfield when they got permission to search 38-year-old Kellie Lynne Henry’s blue Mercury Mariner for possible stolen items around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Henry stood nearby as the deputies found a Michael Kors purse. Inside was a 100-pack of Marlboro Black cigarettes with a folded piece of paper towel. Unfolding it revealed 0.5 grams of methamphetamine, the report said.

A deputy spoke with Henry about this discovery, but she claimed to be unaware of the methamphetamine. However, she mentioned being arrested in the past for possession of the substance, the report said…
