A woman was nabbed with a large quantity of drugs near a gate in The Villages.
Samantha Elder, 32, of Ocala, was driving a black SUV on Monday afternoon when she was pulled over near the Boone Gate on the Historic Side of The Villages because she did not have her seatbelt fastened, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
A K-9 unit was summoned to the scene of the traffic stop and the dog alerted on the vehicle, signaling the likely presence of drugs.
A backpack found in the vehicle contained methamphetamine, marijuana, buprenorphine hydrochloride pills, two scales with drug residue, eight used syringes and five glass pipes with drug residue.
