A woman was transported by ambulance to the hospital in The Villages after another driver ran a red light at a notoriously busy intersection.
The woman had been driving a white Buick Encore about 2 p.m. Wednesday traveling east on County Road 466 and turning onto Rolling Acres Road when a man driving a westbound vehicle towing a trailer ran a red light and crashed into the other woman’s vehicle, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
Her vehicle jumped the curb and crashed at the corner of the intersection. The other vehicle kept traveling off into a nearby field but as it traveled, a piece of equipment came off the trailer and struck a third vehicle which was southbound on Rolling Acres Road attempting to make a right turn onto County Road 466.
