A man was sentenced for beating up a rideshare driver in Central Florida. The Longwood man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for beating and hospitalizing an Uber driver who asked him to exit his vehicle after a ride ended.
Seminole County prosecutors convicted 34-year-old Marquis A. Delcampo at trial of aggravated battery on rideshare driver Jovanny Mercado Guzman in 2023. Assistant State Attorneys Domenick Leo and Martine McCarthy also convinced the jury that Delcampo should receive a more severe sentence as a Prison Releasee Reoffender and Habitual Felony Offender based on his criminal record.
