Construction worker allegedly crashes boss’s work truck through cattle fence

A Fruitland Park man was arrested for allegedly stealing his boss’s truck and crashing it through a cattle fence.

A deputy responded to a home on Groveland Farms Road regarding a vehicle stolen by 38-year-old Michael Anthony Stewart around 11:05 p.m. Friday, March 27, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The owner advised that Stewart, his employee at Silver Star Construction Inc, 8922 Bogaert Dr., Groveland, had stolen his black 2007 Ford F-350. They were having a conversation about the owner’s displeasure with his job performance before he left the building. The owner heard his truck starting up and saw Stewart driving away with it, the report said.

He had been allowed to drive that truck in the past, but at no time had he ever been permitted to take it home. The truck was the owner’s personal work vehicle that he took home every day, and no one else, the report said…
