Kicking the can down the road on Morse Boulevard could be expensive

I appreciated reading the report on the recent Amenity Authority Committee workshop addressing the safety of traveling on Morse Boulevard between County Road 466 and U.S. Hwy. 441. But, in my opinion, the absence of any mention of the inevitable and eventual solution to that matter is disappointing.

To that end, I submit that the elimination of the danger within that short stretch of Morse Boulevard just north of 466 is only a fraction of what is actually needed long term to bring the entire length of Morse Boulevard up to the standards of its several miles to the south, and to make it comparable to its sister highway, Buena Vista Boulevard.

To wit, looking north on Morse from County Road 466, everyone is already aware of the few miles needing a resolution of the traffic and golf cart co-mingling danger. Narrowly separating the north and southbound lanes with a median strip and adding separate multi-purpose cart paths on both sides will help with the safety factor, and that improvement will eliminate the need for gates and associated bottlenecks on both ends…
