“Do you think enough is being done to improve safety on Morse Boulevard north of County Road 466?” HECK NO! The Amenity Authority Committee needs to be ashamed of themselves for ignoring resident safety by not passing the $2.4 million Kimley-Horn plan to build a separate golf cart path. They even have a funding source. It seems every couple of months someone is severely injured or killed on Morse Boulevard north of County Road 466 in a golf cart that tangles with a car. The volume of traffic on that road, which is a major thoroughfare, is too high for golf carts to share it. A separate golf cart path, like the other main roads in The Villages have, will go a long way in making that road safer. Amenity Authority Committee members must ask themselves how much is a life worth compared to the $2.4 million price tag for the separate path. By voting no, they are placing a price on resident’s lives.
