A highly intoxicated Villager was arrested after allegedly kicking a deputy and calling him a “pig.”
Deputies responded to the Village of Rio Ranchero at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A Community Watch driver had seen 68-year-old Jamie Lynn Bryan of the Historic Side of The Villages yelling about going home as a man drove her around the neighborhood on a golf cart.
Deputies arrived on scene to find Bryan seated in a golf cart and obviously highly intoxicated. She could not or would not say where she lived or how to get home. She also could not advise if there was anyone home who would be able to help care for her until she sobered up, the report said.
Out of concern, Bryan was placed under the Marchman Act, meaning she was not free to leave until she was stabilized. She and the deputies waited for EMS to arrive to check on her, during which she kept leaning toward the side of the golf cart. The deputies had to hold her up so she would not fall and hurt herself, the report said…
