A Belleview man was arrested after being stopped with a suspended license and methamphetamine on a key chain.
An officer observed 37-year-old Kyle Stead driving a white pickup truck southbound on County Road 25 near the intersection with Smitty Road around 10:05 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The vehicle’s tag light emitted white light to the back of the vehicle, and the wires from the hanging light partially blocked the license plate.
Seeing this, the officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection and spoke with Stead. He did not want to identify himself at first and eventually admitted that he had an active civil order warrant for his arrest. Additionally, a check of his driving history revealed his license was suspended, and he had two guilty pleas for driving with a suspended license on Aug. 5, 2025, and Dec. 12, 2014, the report said.
A subsequent search of his person yielded a key chain with a small metal cylindrical container clipped to his belt loop on his right side. Unscrewing the cap revealed a small plastic baggie with 0.78 grams of methamphetamine, the report said…
