An attack victim sought refuge at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office annex in The Villages after her boyfriend ripped clumps of hair out of her head.
The woman fled to the annex at County Road 466 and Morse Boulevard following the attack Thursday night by 42-year-old Bryan Lamar Smith, according to an arrest report.
The woman had been in the driver’s seat of her vehicle reading Smith’s text messages. Smith, who was in the passenger seat, became enraged and snatched the keys from the ignition.
