A homeless man from Cocoa Beach and his Arizona cohort were arrested after being stopped near the Okahumpka Service Plaza in a stolen car.
A deputy responded to Mile Marker 332 of Interstate 75 in Wildwood regarding a dark brown 2022 Nissan Altima that had been reported stolen from Brevard County at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The occupants, 20-year-old Hunter Eugene William Gwinn and 20-year-old Talan Anderson Hall, were heading northbound toward the Okahumpka Service Plaza.
The deputy spotted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop just north of mile marker 332. He then commanded both occupants to step out of the vehicle, and they were then detained, the report said.
After contacting the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy learned the vehicle’s owner had allowed Gwinn and Hall to stay at his residence for the night. The next morning, the owner left the residence and the spare key. His two guests took the spare key and stole the car, which had his wallet and debit cards inside, the report said…
