Woman allegedly steals $46 worth of alcohol from Family Dollar in Wildwood

A Wildwood woman turned herself in this week after allegedly stealing alcohol from Family Dollar.

An officer responded to Family Dollar, located at 400 N Main St., regarding a theft complaint on March 16, according to a narrative report from the Wildwood Police Department. The store manager showed him two separate incidents involving 47-year-old Nakita Shakita Young.

Surveillance footage from March 13 showed when Young selected a shopping cart and walked to the cold cooler section to select two 24-ounce bottles of Corona Extra. She moved out of camera view with them, and when she reappeared, they were nowhere to be seen, the report said.

Young then picked up two 23.5-ounce cans of Mike’s Harder Lemonade, again moving out of the camera shot. She proceeded through the store to another area before coming to the register with her purse slung over her shoulder. She paid for unrelated items and left the store. The manager, suspecting she concealed the alcohol, searched the aisles she had passed and found none of the drinks she had removed from the cooler, the report said…
