Man deadbolts himself in house after 911 call reports disturbing threats

A man with a violent history deadbolted himself in a house after a 911 caller reported hearing his disturbing threats.

Omar Alston, 50, was heard making profane threats, including, “I’m going to kill you,” at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home at 407 Winners Circle, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

When officers arrived on the scene, Alston slammed and deadbolted the door and refused to come out. He was very “hostile” and “cussing” at the officers. Because there has been a history of disturbances at the address and officers believed there was another person inside, they forced open the door. When he realized police had made entry into the home, Alston retreated to a bedroom and blocked the door. Police were able to take him into custody. He was arrested on a charge of resisting arrest and booked at the Lake County Jail. He was released after posting $1,000 bond…
