Mississippi State’s Super Regional hero that ended the Oklahoma Sooners’ 2026 college softball season is now up for grabs, and if OU wants her, it’s certain Patty Gasso would utilize the talent unlike the Bulldogs did.

Mississippi State left-handed pitcher Delainey Everett announced over the weekend that she’s entering the transfer portal with one year of eligibility left after stealing the spotlight during the NCAA Softball Championship.

OU fans, along with Mississippi State fans, learned what Everett is capable of when she shut down the Sooners’ historically powerful lineup in Game 3 of the Norman Super Regional while making her first start of the season in the biggest moment in Bulldogs history.

Everett pitched a complete-game shutout while giving up only three hits against a lineup that averaged 9.53 runs a game throughout the season. It was the first time in 399 games that a pitcher shutout the Sooners, and Everett accomplished the feat while getting Mississippi State to the Women’s College World Series for the first time in school history…
