Yukon Mayor responds to resignation of Jeff Wootton after recall petition filing

YUKON, Okla. (KFOR) — City Manager and Vice Mayor Jeff Wootton resigned from his position Saturday after being named in a recall petition to be removed from office.

Yukon resident John Horn filed the petition to recall Wootton and Mayor Brian Pillmore for their roles in backing a data center that could be built in town.

“They lied to us. Not only have they not been open, they lied,” Horn said.
