‘Kicks 66’ opens along Route 66, bringing Oklahoma City a new roadside icon

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — “Kicks 66,” the sculpture of a big red boot along Route 66, is now open to the public after a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

There was a big turnout for the event outside the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum along the Route 66 portion of I-44.

People dressed the part, wearing cowboy hats and cowboy boots…
