Local vet says ‘Kennel Cough’ more prevalent this summer

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — “Kennel Cough” cases are coming around more and more for one local veterinarian in northwest Oklahoma City. She is urging everyone to make sure their pet is up to date on vaccines to keep them safe.

A playful and healthy pup is a happy pup. Most dogs like to run and play, and the last thing you want to see is a damper on that fun due to your good boy or girl getting sick. Dr. Andrea Stevens owns Oklahoma Animal Urgent Care.

She said the sickness seems more prevalent than in past years. What starts almost like a cold for dogs with a runny nose, eye discharge, coughing, and sneezing can lead to serious complications if your pet isn’t vaccinated…
