Yukon residents turn in petition to recall mayor amid data center controversy

YUKON, Okla – Yukon residents turned in a recall petition against Yukon Mayor Brian Pillmore on Thursday.

Residents are calling for Pillmore to be removed from his position amid growing controversy over a proposed data center project and the city’s agreement with developer BLE Landholdings, which is associated with Beltline.

Former vice mayor, Jeff Wooton, resigned in June amid recall efforts for him.

The petition was turned in on Thursday morning, and the City of Yukon has 30 days to verify the signatures on the recall petition.

If the petition passes verification, the city clerk will verify the petition and bring it to the City Council…
