OKALAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – It’s another warm and muggy start across Oklahoma, and the heat will build quickly through the afternoon. High temperatures will climb into the upper 90s to low 100s statewide, while heat index values between 100 and 110 degrees will make it feel even hotter. Expect a mix of partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies for much of the day.
Attention then turns to storm chances later this evening. The greatest risk for thunderstorms will develop across north-central and northwestern Oklahoma after about 5 to 6 p.m. Those storms are expected to move south through the evening, with the potential to reach the Oklahoma City metro around 11 p.m. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue overnight and into the early morning hours Sunday.
Overnight temperatures will remain warm, only falling into the low to mid-70s…
